Private and semi-private lessons
Private lessons are customized to each individual's skill level and project needs. Whether you are just beginning, have a brand new machine, or are wanting to stretch your wings and learn a new skill (zippers, bound buttonholes, hemming etc.) a private lesson may be just what you need to get you to the next step.
Private lessons: $28/hour, 2 hour minimum, or purchase a five-hour bundle for $99 (must be used in no more than two sessions) Semi-private lessons: $15 per person/hour, 2-hour minimum. NOTE: to reserve, click on the link below. Be sure to list what date/times you'll be in the studio in the comments section of the order form.

Stitch Club! Youth sewing for ages 10-15
September through June:
Ongoing Sunday afternoon fun for kids ages 10-15, beginning to intermediate.
This is the place to learn the right way to sew from the very basics.

Please call for more info. 3 hours/week, 2 weeks/month $60 per
month. Class meets 1-4PM 1st & 3rd Sundays or 2nd & 4th Sundays.

For all classes except Machine & Sewing Basics, bring your
own basic supplies, patterns and fabric unless otherwise specified- "click
here for a list of basic sewing supplies."
Machine & Sewing Basics
The first class for teens and adults who have never sewn or need a basics refresher. We will cover sewing machine basics--major parts, threading, bobbin use, simple maintenance and operation. You will learn about seam allowance, to stitch straight, back tack, turn corners, pressing and to trouble shoot threading issues. Leave with stitching and pressing technique samples and a completed project: a great insulated potholder--not a boring one. Trust! All supplies are provided. Use one of our machines or bring your own if you want to learn it, specifically. Serves as the prereq for Monday Night Threads-Beginning Sewing for Adults. 3 hours/$35 Held on the 4th monday of each month (and occasionally on a weekend...)

Beginning Sewing for Adults
Monday Night Threads
There are a lot of subtle nuances with sewing. The best way to learn is with repetition and just plain diving in. I've designed Monday Night Threads to help you do this! A weekly sewing night to work through all the beginning projects: an artist's or chef's apron, a kimono-banded robe, a pajama top with elastic and draw string bottoms--all great Palmer/Pletsch patterns with clear, easy-to-follow instructions. I will also help with any other pre-approved designs you want to make. I will repeat the series continually and you can jump in at any time. The series is priced so it's not the end of the world if you miss a class, (Heaven knows we are all too busy!) so come on by and sew with me. Class is held the first three mondays of each month. In this class you will learn to make a commercial pant pattern fit your unique shape using the Palmer/Pletsch fit method.
